2010 NBA Mock Draft >>>

Draft order

1. St. Louis Rams – QB Sam Bradford – Oklahoma

There have been a lot of talk that the Rams have had serious talks about drafting QB Sam Bradford in the 2010 NFL draft.  In past years they have passed on Matt Ryan and Mark Sanchez so they don’t want to make the same mistake three years in a row.  Bradford has an NFL type arm with great accuracy.  The Rams have also signed AJ Feeley so if they don’t want him to start right away Feeley can step in and take over until they are ready to throw Bradford into the fire.

2. Detroit Lions – DT Gerald McCoy – Oklahoma

In the 2009 NFL draft, they boosted their offense with a franchise QB in Matt Stafford and TE Brandon Pettigrew.  Also with their second round pick they drafted Safety Louis Delmas who is having a pretty good season so drafting Eric Berry is probably off their radar.  They have lacked a run stopper in the middle of their defensive line.  McCoy is exactly that at 6′3″ 296 lbs.  In my 2010 NFL mock draft I see McCoy being that piece to turn around the Detroit Lions in 2010.

3. Tampa Bay Buccaneers – DT Ndamukong Suh – Nebraska

In my 2010 NFL mock draft, the Buccaneers are in a great position if Sam Bradford is the first overall selection.  They will get one of the top DT which could easily be the 1st overall draft pick.  In my mock draft I have McCoy over Suh so he will end up in Tampa Bay and will help rebuild that defense.

4.  Washington Redskins - QB Jimmy Clausen – Notre Dame

The Redskins could go with an offensive tackle with this pick if Sam Bradford goes #1 but they just signed Artis Hicks who will fill in nicely for the 2010-11 season.  They still have Jason Campbell in Washington but I believe Mike Shanahan will start his reign with his own QB and that will be Jimmy Clausen in my 2010 NFL mock draft.

5. Kansas City Chiefs - OT Russell Okung – Oklahoma State

The Chiefs offensive line is in desperate need of improvement and in my 2010 NFL mock draft I have them doing just that..  They drafted OT Branden Albert in 2008 but hasn’t panned out like they were hoping.  Okung is a very athletic left tackle with great power and speed.  By drafting a franchise left tackle to protect QB Matt Cassell’s blind side they may be able to step up their offensive production.

6. Seattle Seahawks – OT Anthony Davis – Rutgers

This season when QB Matt Hasselbeck was healthy and starting the Seahawks were a pretty good team.  Hasselbeck got hurt earlier in the season and couldn’t stay upright long enough to get the offense going.  In my 2010 NFL mock draft Seattle should be looking to improve their offensive line.  In the second and third round of the 2010 NFL draft, the Seahawks will be able to find some very good defensive players.

7. Cleveland Browns – ILB Rolando McClain – Alabama

I don’t think that Cleveland should take a QB in my 2010 NFL mock draft because when given a chance towards the end of this season Brady Quinn preformed pretty well.  With Mike Holmgren running the show now he may want to bring in a new coach as well as his “own” QB so we will have to wait and see what he says after the season.  I would help boost the defense with their first pick of the draft.  They could go for a defensive end and improve their pass rush but in my 2010 mock draft they won’t be able to pass on LB Rolando McClain.  McClain is a tough and physical linebacker with a great football IQ.

8. Oakland Raiders - OT Trent Williams – Oklahoma

With the 8th pick in the 2010 NFL draft the Raiders could go a few ways.  They may help the defensive line or secondary.  In my 2010 NFL mock draft I have them picking Trent Williams.  He is a big and powerful offensive lineman who has had a great career protecting Sam Bradford at Oklahoma.  In his combine workout he ran a 4.85-second 40-yard dash, turned in a 32-inch vertical jump and put up 34 repetitions on the standard 225-pound bench press.

9. Buffalo Bills – OT Bryan Bulaga – Iowa

Bulaga’s 6′6″ 311 lbs frame will be a great fit on front line of the Buffalo Bills.  The last two years they have been building up their offensive line.  Bulaga had a very good year at Iowa and will help protect whoever is in the backfield for Buffalo.  If one of the top two QB’s falls this far I believe they will draft one of them but in my mock draft they are off the board so they have to continue to work on the offensive side of the ball.

10. Jacksonville Jaguars - S Eric Berry – Tennessee

Eric Berry could be the top football player in this year’s draft.  He has been compared to Baltimore Ravens star Ed Reed.  He isn’t afraid to come up and make the tackle but also posses excellent secondary skills.  I believe his talent could make him a top 5 pick in this years draft but in my mock draft there are no needs for a Safety.  Jacksonville could also go with a DE with this pick even with the signing of Aaron Kampman but it will be hard to pass on the top player on the draft board.

2010 NFL Mock Draft 11-20

March 6, 2010 by Administrator · 3 Comments

11. Denver Broncos (From Chicago) – WR Dez Bryant – Oklahoma State

I believe that WR Brandon Marshall will not be back in Denver for the 2010 NFL season.  Bryant is an explosive and strong receiver who can break open a game any time the ball comes his way.  He will be a great replacement for Marshall and work well with Coach McDaniels’ system.

12. Miami Dolphins - DE/OLB Sergio Kindle – Texas

Sergio Kindle is a very versatile defensive player.  He can rush off the end or stand up and play linebacker.  He is a similar player to Brian Orakpo who had a great rookie season for the Redskins last year.  This draft pick for Miami will be between Kindle and DT Dan Williams.  The signing of Carlos Dansby could lean towards taking Williams but I think they will go with Kindle because he can play multiple positions.

13. San Francisco 49ers – CB Joe Haden – Florida

Joe Haden is currently the #1 CB according to Scouts Inc. He has exceptional speed and is very athletic. The 49ers’ secondary has been a big weakness on a defense that has played pretty well all season under head coach Mike Singletary. By adding Haden they will inject some youth and playmaking ability to the corner position.

14. Seattle Seahawks (From Denver) – RB C.J. Spiller – Clemson

In Pete Carroll’s press conference he said that they are going to have to run the ball effectively to be successful.  I don’t believe that Julius Jones is that answer.  I like Justin Forsett but they will need to get a playmaker on the offense.  To be successful in the NFL your team must have players who can create big plays and that is what Spiller did in Clemson. In my 2010 NFL mock draft I have the Seahawks taking C.J. Spiller.

15. New York Giants – DT Dan Williams – Tennessee

The Giants’ defensive line was banged up last year and didn’t really have a physical presence in the middle.  After Suh and McCoy he is the next best DT in the 2010 NFL mock draft.  Williams will require double teams which leaves Justin Tuck, Osi Umenyiora, and Mathias Kiwanuka one-on-one on the outside which is a good thing for New York.

16. Tennessee Titans – DE Derrick Morgan – Georgia Tech

The Titans lost Kyle Vanden Bosch to free agency which means that they don’t have a big time pass rusher off the edge.  Last year the defense was very bad so I expect this to be the area that they focus on during the draft.  Derrick Morgan started as a top 10 draft pick but has dropped mostly due to the needs of teams in the front of the draft.  This would be a steal if Morgan falls this far and lands in the lap of Tennessee.

17. San Francisco 49ers (From Carolina) – OT Bruce Campbell – Maryland

Bruce Campbell has been rising in many mock drafts.  The 49ers are entering this draft looking to build up their offensive line.  If Anthony Davis or Trent Williams falls to them at pick 13 then expect them to draft one of those offensive linemen.  Picking Campbell here in my NFL mock draft will help protect Alex Smith who looked like the franchise QB that they were expecting at the end of this season.

18. Pittsburgh Steelers - OG Mike Iupati – Idaho

Iupati skills were not shown in the combine.  He isn’t an athletic freak like the other offensive lineman but he did hold his own in the combine drills.  He possess a very big frame and is thickly built.  In my 2010 NFL mock draft Iupati will fall to the Steelers and that will vastly improve their offensive line to help protect Ben Roethlisberger in the 2010 season.

19. Atlanta Falcons – DE Jason Pierre-Paul – South Florida

I have had Pierre-Paul in the top 10 of my 2010 NFL mock draft but he has fallen to the Falcons who would be very happy if this happens on April 22.  Atlanta was among the worst defenses in sacks for the 2009 season.  This draft pick will immediately produce more sacks.

20. Houston Texans – S Earl Thomas – Texas

Earl Thomas is a well rounded safety who does a little bit of everything for a football team.  He can blitz from his safety position and also come up and cover slot receivers.  Last year the Texans drafted a big time linebacker in Brian Cushing and this year Thomas should also help improve the defense.

2010 NFL Mock Draft 21-32

March 1, 2010 by Administrator · 5 Comments

21.  Cincinnati Bengals – TE Jermain Gresham – Oklahoma

Gresham looked to have gotten over his knee injury that he sustain his senior year during his workouts at the combine.  Gresham ran routes well and his 4.76 in the 40 confirmed that he has not lost his ability to stretch the middle of the field.  This draft pick will help the Bengals offense dramatically.  He will be a presence in the middle of the field which adds another target for Carson Palmer to throw to but also will open the field up more for Chad Ochocinco.

22. New England Patriots – CB Patrick Robinson – Florida State

This year New England’s secondary has been very suspect.  Some people have said they may be looking to draft a running back but Laurence Maroney played very well showing why they had drafted him in 2006.  Robinson will bring some youth and good coverage skills to their secondary in 2010.

23. Green Bay Packers - DE Brandon Graham – Michigan

The Packers need to get younger and quicker on the front line of their defense.  DE Graham will be a great addition to that front line that needs to get quicker off the ball.  Graham’s performance in the Senior Bowl has really elevated him in a lot of mock drafts.  He has moved into the first round in my 2010 mock draft.

24. Philadelphia Eagles – S Taylor Mays – USC

Taylor Mays is a freak athlete and would have been a high draft pick in last years draft but decided to stay for his senior year. He is a player that looks for the big hits and is very good against the run but also hurts him sometimes because he will jump on play action.  His type of play would be a great fit in the secondary of the Eagles.  In my 2010 NFL mock draft, Taylor Mays will be available with the 24th pick and should be able to help with the loss of Dawkins.

25. Baltimore Ravens – WR Golden Tate – Notre Dame

Even with the addition of WR Anquan Boldin which is a great pick up for the Ravens, I still have them drafting Golden Tate in my 2010 NFL mock draft.  In his Junior season Tate really stepped up for Jimmy Clausen and the Fighting Irish.  Boldin is a great WR in the NFL but throughout his career he has been injury prone and it wont hurt their offense to have two playmakers for Joe Flacco to throw to.

26. Arizona Cardinals – DE Ricky Sapp – Clemson

Free agency has has just started and the Cardinals are one of the biggest losers so far.  They have lost S Antrel Rolle, WR Anquan Boldin, and DE Bertrand Berry to retirement. They will need to really load up on defensive players in the 2010 NFL draft.  The loss of Boldin is not a big factor with Early Doucet and Steve Breaston moving up a spot on the depth chart.

27. Dallas Cowboys –  C/G Maurkice Pouncey - Florida

Pouncey preformed very well at the combine.  I think he is the second interior lineman behind Mike Iupati.  Dallas could be looking for a offensive tackle with this pick but in my 2010 NFL mock draft all the top ones are off the board.  Pouncey will be a great addition to the middle of that offensive line that needs to add some youth.

28. San Diego Chargers - RB Ryan Matthews – Fresno State

With the Chargers releasing LaDainian Tomlinson, the Chargers will need to get a full-time RB to man the backfield.  It looks like Darren Sproles will stay in San Diego which is a good move but he isn’t a player that can handle the load of 300 carries.  Ryan Matthews draft stock has really risen in the last few weeks.  I have him as my second RB in the 2010 NFL draft.

29. New York Jets – DE Everson Griffen – USC

With their first round pick the Jets could look to draft a WR which will help Mark Sanchez and the offense in the 2010 season.  Braylon Edwards has the potential to be a big time receiver but just can’t shake loose all the drops that he has had this season.  I feel that Rex Ryan will turn to the defensive side and take DE Everson Griffen who has played his way up many 2010 NFL mock drafts.  In my 2010 NFL mock draft I see him as being a late first round pick.

30. Minnesota Vikings – DT Brian Price – UCLA

I know that the Vikings have the Williams’ in the middle but they continue to get older each year and it would be nice for the Vikings to have some depth at that position as well as allow them to get a rest at different times in a ball game.  Currently there are reports that NT Pat Williams is 50/50 on retiring so if he does then they will have to look to replace him in the draft.  They could also be looking at a QB but at this spot there may not be one worth taking but later in the draft I wouldn’t be surprised if they take one.

31. Indianapolis Colts – DT Jared Odrick – Penn State

With Dwight Freeney  on one side and Robert Mathis on the other they will need to fill the void in the middle.  Odrick would be a good addition to the defensive line and could create more sack opportunities for the two on the end if that is possible.

32. New Orleans Saints – OLB Navorro Bowman – Penn State

Despite winning the Super Bowl, their defense was suspect.  This off-season they need to address their linebacker position.  Bowman will be a great pick up with the last pick in the 2010 NFL draft.

2010 NFL Mock Draft 2nd Round

NFL Draft 2nd Round

33St. Louis RamsDE Jerry Hughes - TCUJerry Hughes could be a first round pick so if he falls to the 2nd round the Rams will be happy to pick him.
34Detroit LionsOG Vladimir Ducasse - UMassNow that the Lions have their franchise QB in Matthew Stafford. Their next step is to work on protecting him. Ducasse will be the best available lineman in the 2nd round.
35Tampa Bay BuccaneersWR Arrelious Benn - IllinoisTampa Bay also drafted their franchise QB last year. Josh Freeman played pretty well as a rookie. Now they will have to put playmakers around him. In my 2010 NFL mock draft Benn is the best playmaking WR available.
36Kansas City ChiefsCB Perrish Cox - Oklahoma StateKansas City finished 22nd in the NFL in passing defense. Cox has prototypical height, weight, and speed for the NFL. He can also be used as a kick/punt returner.
37Washington RedskinsRB Jahvid Best - CaliforniaHe is one of the top RB in the 2010 NFL draft. He could easily go in the first round but in my 2010 NFL mock draft he will slide and the Redskins will be happy to draft him.
38Cleveland BrownsCB Javier Arenas – AlabamaIn my 2010 NFL mock draft the Browns took Rolando McClain and Cleveland will continue to revamp their defense. With this pick in the 2010 NFL mock draft, Seattle will boost their defensive secondary and a kick/punt returner in Arenas.
39Oakland RaidersDE Carlos Dunlap - FloridaThe Raiders will be looking to make their defensive line younger. At the beginning of the football season Carlos Dunlap was one of the top rated 2010 NFL draft picks but throughout the year he has fallen. He has fallen due to his inconsistent play and his conduct off the field. In my 2010 NFL mock draft I have Dunlap falling to Oakland and I think it would be a good pick for them.
40Seattle SeahawksCB Kyle Wilson - Boise StateThis pick in the 2010 NFL mock draft the Seahawks will get a top CB and help their secondary tremendously.
41Buffalo BillsOT Charles Brown - USCCurrently in my 2010 mock draft I have the Bills taking Sam Bradford in the first round. With this pick they will have to continue to work on their offensive line.
42Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Chicago)CB Devin McCourty - RutgersTampa Bay needs more depth in their secondary and McCourty will give them just that in my 2010 NFL mock draft.
43Miami DolphinsILB Brandon Spikes - FloridaIf Spikes falls this far in the 2010 NFL draft then it will be a big steal for the Miami Dolphins. Spikes is a very physical linebacker but his speed is something that has hurt his draft stock.
44New England Patriots (Jacksonville)DE Greg Hardy - MississippiNew England will be looking to make their defensive line younger. Hardy has great NFL size to help him succeed at the next level.
