NFL Draft 2nd Round

33St. Louis RamsDE Jerry Hughes - TCUJerry Hughes could be a first round pick so if he falls to the 2nd round the Rams will be happy to pick him.
34Detroit LionsOG Mike Iupati - IdahoNow that the Lions have their franchise QB in Matthew Stafford. Their next step is to work on protecting him. Iupati will be the best available lineman in the 2nd round.
35Tampa Bay BuccaneersWR Arrelious Benn - IllinoisTampa Bay also drafted their franchise QB last year. Josh Freeman played pretty well as a rookie. Now they will have to put playmakers around him. In my 2010 NFL mock draft Benn is the best playmaking WR available.
36Kansas City ChiefsCB Perrish Cox - Oklahoma StateKansas City finished 22nd in the NFL in passing defense. Cox has prototypical height, weight, and speed for the NFL. He can also be used as a kick/punt returner.
37Washington RedskinsRB Jahvid Best - CaliforniaHe is one of the top RB in the 2010 NFL draft. He could easily go in the first round but in my 2010 NFL mock draft he will slide and the Redskins will be happy to draft him.
38Cleveland BrownsCB Javier Arenas – AlabamaIn my 2010 NFL mock draft the Browns took Rolando McClain and Cleveland will continue to revamp their defense. With this pick in the 2010 NFL mock draft, Seattle will boost their defensive secondary and a kick/punt returner in Arenas.
39Oakland RaidersDE Carlos Dunlap - FloridaThe Raiders will be looking to make their defensive line younger. At the beginning of the football season Carlos Dunlap was one of the top rated 2010 NFL draft picks but throughout the year he has fallen. He has fallen due to his inconsistent play and his conduct off the field. In my 2010 NFL mock draft I have Dunlap falling to Oakland and I think it would be a good pick for them.
40Seattle SeahawksCB Kyle Wilson - Boise StateThis pick in the 2010 NFL mock draft the Seahawks will get a top CB and help their secondary tremendously.
41Buffalo BillsOT Charles Brown - USCCurrently in my 2010 mock draft I have the Bills taking Sam Bradford in the first round. With this pick they will have to continue to work on their offensive line.
42Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Chicago)CB Brandon Ghee - Wake ForestTampa Bay needs more depth in their secondary and Ghee will give them just that in my 2010 NFL mock draft.
43Miami DolphinsDT Arthur Jones - SyracuseThe Dolphins need a big defensive tackle that can plug up the middle. Right now in my 2010 NFL mock draft if Jones is available he will be a very good DT.
44New England Patriots (Jacksonville)DE Greg Hardy - MississippiNew England will be looking to make their defensive line younger. Hardy has great NFL size to help him succeed at the next level.

2010 NFL Mock Draft

2010 NBA Mock Draft >>>

Draft order

1. St. Louis Rams – DT Ndamukong Suh – Nebraska

Suh was the top defensive player this year in college football and some say he was the most dominant player overall.  He was a top finalist for the Heisman Trophy for the 2009 season.  Once Jake Locker took his name out of the draft, Ndamukong Suh rose to the front of the list for the Rams.  They could reach for QB’s Sam Bradford and Jimmy Clausen or take one of the top rated players in the 2010 NFL mock draft.  That will be the question they will be thinking about until April.

2. Detroit Lions – DT Gerald McCoy – Oklahoma

In the 2009 NFL draft, they boosted their offense with a franchise QB in Matt Stafford and TE Brandon Pettigrew.  Also with their second round pick they drafted Safety Louis Delmas who is having a pretty good season so drafting Eric Berry is probably off their radar.  They have lacked a run stopper in the middle of their defensive line.  McCoy is exactly that at 6′3″ 296 lbs.  In my 2010 NFL mock draft I see McCoy being that piece to turn around the Detroit Lions in 2010.

3. Tampa Bay Bucaneers - S Eric Berry – Tennessee

Eric Berry could be the top football player in this year’s draft.  He has been compared to Baltimore Ravens star Ed Reed.  He isn’t afraid to come up and make the tackle but also posses excellent secondary skills.  It might be a little high to draft a Safety but with the talent he posses it will be hard to pass up the opportunity to draft a game changer on the defensive side of the ball.

4.  Washington Redskins QB Sam Bradford – Oklahoma

Bradford has great size for an NFL quarterback with outstanding accuracy in a pro style offense.  He played mainly in a shotgun formation so his footwork isn’t NFL ready right now.  I don’t necessarily believe in picking Bradford first over Clausen but when building my mock draft I think the Redskins will go with the QB from Oklahoma.

5. Kansas City Chiefs - OT Russell Okung – Oklahoma State

The Chiefs offensive line is in desperate need of improvement and in my 2010 NFL mock draft I have them doing just that..  They drafted OT Branden Albert in 2008 but hasn’t panned out like they were hoping.  Okung is a very athletic left tackle with great power and speed.  By drafting a franchise left tackle to protect QB Matt Cassell’s blind side they may be able to step up their offensive production.

6. Seattle Seahawks – OT Anthony Davis – Rutgers

This season when QB Matt Hasselbeck was healthy and starting the Seahawks were a pretty good team.  Hasselbeck got hurt earlier in the season and couldn’t stay upright long enough to get the offense going.  In my 2010 NFL mock draft Seattle should be looking to improve their offensive line.  In the second and third round of the 2010 NFL draft, the Seahawks will be able to find some very good defensive players.

7. Cleveland Browns – ILB Rolando McClain – Alabama

I don’t think that Cleveland should take a QB in my 2010 NFL mock draft because when given a chance towards the end of this season Brady Quinn preformed pretty well.  With Mike Holmgren running the show now he may want to bring in a new coach as well as his “own” QB so we will have to wait and see what he says after the season.  I would help boost the defense with their first pick of the draft.  They could go for a defensive end and improve their pass rush but in my 2010 mock draft they won’t be able to pass on LB Rolando McClain.  McClain is a tough and physical linebacker with a great football IQ.

8. Oakland Raiders - OT Trent Williams – Oklahoma

With the 8th pick in the 2010 NFL draft the Raiders could go a few ways.  They may help the defensive line or secondary.  In my 2010 NFL mock draft I have them picking Trent Williams.  He is a big and powerful offensive lineman who has had a great career protecting Sam Bradford at Oklahoma.  Al Davis has probably not given up on JaMarcus Russell so protecting him will be a must to give him the best chance to succeed.

9. Buffalo Bills - QB Jimmy Clausen – Notre Dame

I believe that he is more NFL ready than Sam Bradford is.  Saying that I still believe that Daniel Snyder and Mike Shanahan will want to take Bradford with the 4th pick in my 2010 NFL mock draft.  In Clausen’s junior year he has shown poise and the ability to lead 4th quarter comebacks. He has tremendous arm strength and is very accurate.  Chan Gailey is an offensive guy and will want to remake the offense.  First step is drafting a QB.  The Bills are also looking into bringing Michael Vick to Buffalo so if that does happen it will change their pick in my 2010 NFL mock draft.

10. Jacksonville Jaguars – DE Derrick Morgan – Georgia Tech

I have read and heard a lot of people saying that Jacksonville needs to take QB Tim Tebow with their first round draft pick to boost their ticket sales and to boost their fan base.  I don’t think that this should be the reason they should be drafting Tebow.  David Garrard is a good QB and isn’t the problem.  Defensively they can’t stop anyone.  Derrick Morgan will be the top rated defensive player with the 10th pick and I have the Jags taking him in my 2010 NFL mock draft.

2010 NFL Mock Draft 11-20

January 31, 2010 by Administrator · 2 Comments

11. Denver Broncos (From Chicago) – WR Dez Bryant – Oklahoma State

I believe that WR Brandon Marshall will not be back in Denver for the 2010 NFL season.  Bryant is an explosive and strong receiver who can break open a game any time the ball comes his way.  He will be a great replacement for Marshall and work well with Coach McDaniels’ system.

12. Miami Dolphins – OLB Navorro Bowman – Penn State

If Dez Bryant falls to them I think it would be a good choice for Miami to pick him up. In my mock draft he has been taken by the Broncos.  Now they will turn to the defensive side of the ball and work on the linebacker position.  Bowman is a very physical backer from Penn State and should immediately help their defense in 2010.

13. San Francisco 49ers – CB Joe Haden – Florida

Joe Haden is currently the #1 CB according to Scouts Inc. He has exceptional speed and is very athletic. The 49ers’ secondary has been a big weakness on a defense that has played pretty well all season under head coach Mike Singletary. By adding Haden they will inject some youth and playmaking ability to the corner position.

14. Seattle Seahawks (From Denver) – RB C.J. Spiller – Clemson

In Pete Carroll’s press conference he said that they are going to have to run the ball effectively to be successful.  I don’t believe that Julius Jones is that answer.  I like Justin Forsett but they will need to get a playmaker on the offense.  To be successful in the NFL your team must have players who can create big plays and that is what Spiller did in Clemson. In my 2010 NFL mock draft I have the Seahawks taking C.J. Spiller.

15. New York Giants - ILB Brandon Spikes – Florida

Brandon Spikes is a tremendous athlete and is a big hitter. The Giants have really struggled this year and is a big reason they will be missing the playoffs.  In many mock drafts, Spikes has been falling because scouts have taken notice to his lack of speed.  There were a few times that Cincinnati’s QB Tony Pike outran Spikes in the Sugar Bowl.  He could slip even farther down when the draft nears but in my 2010 NFL mock draft I have the Giants picking him.

16. Tennessee Titans – DE Jason Pierre-Paul – South Florida

With their defensive ends getting old and slow off the edges, Pierre-Paul would be a great addition to that defensive line in my 2010 NFL mock draft.  He has tremendous speed off the edge and has been creating chaos in the opponents backfield all season at South Florida.

17. San Francisco 49ers (From Carolina) – OT Bruce Campbell – Maryland

Bruce Campbell has been rising in many mock drafts.  The 49ers are entering this draft looking to build up their offensive line.  If Anthony Davis or Trent Williams falls to them at pick 13 then expect them to draft one of those offensive linemen.  Picking Campbell here in my NFL mock draft will help protect Alex Smith who looked like the franchise QB that they were expecting at the end of this season.

18. Pittsburgh Steelers - OT Bryan Bulaga – Iowa

Bulaga’s 6′6″ 311 lbs frame will be a great fit on front line of the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Steelers have not had a great line the past few years despite being very successful.  Bulaga should help protect Ben Roethlisberger who has been getting beat up the last few years especially this year when he had to miss a game due to a concussion.

19. Atlanta Falcons – DE Brandon Graham – Michigan

Last year Atlanta ended the season with 28 total sacks and their defensive tackle Jonathan Babineaux lead the team with 6 sacks.  DE Graham will be a great addition to that front line that needs to get quicker off the ball.  Graham’s performance in the Senior Bowl will really elevate him in a lot of mock drafts.  He has moved into the first round in my 2010 mock draft.

20. Houston Texans – S Earl Thomas – Texas

Earl Thomas is a well rounded safety who does a little bit of everything for a football team.  He can blitz from his safety position and also come up and cover slot receivers.  Last year the Texans drafted a big time linebacker in Brian Cushing and this year Thomas should also help improve the defense.

2010 NFL Mock Draft 21-32

January 31, 2010 by Administrator · 2 Comments

21.  Cincinnati Bengals – TE Jermain Gresham – Oklahoma

While I was watching their playoff game against the Jets, I noticed that they don’t have a playmaker besides Cedric Benson.  Outside they have Chad Ochocinco and Laveranues Coles.  Coles isn’t a big time WR so I could see them trying to draft a WR but I think that they will be able to get a good one later on in the 2010 NFL draft.   Gresham wasn’t able to play his senior year so his draft stock will be linked to his workouts but I think he would be great with Carson Palmer.  He will be able to rome in the middle and open up the outside for their receivers.

22. New England Patriots – CB Patrick Robinson – Florida State

This year New England’s secondary has been very suspect.  Some people have said they may be looking to draft a running back but Laurence Maroney played very well showing why they had drafted him in 2006.  Robinson will bring some youth and good coverage skills to their secondary in 2010.

23. Green Bay Packers – G Vladimir Ducasse – UMass

Ducasse has crazy amount of size and moves well with that size.  He played guard in college but will try and play tackle in the NFL.  In my 2010 NFL mock draft I have the Packers improving their offensive line on draft day.

24. Philadelphia Eagles – S Taylor Mays – USC

Taylor Mays is a freak athlete and would have been a high draft pick in last years draft but decided to stay for his senior year. He is a player that looks for the big hits and is very good against the run but also hurts him sometimes because he will jump on play action.  His type of play would be a great fit in the secondary of the Eagles.  In my 2010 NFL mock draft, Taylor Mays will be available with the 24th pick and should be able to help with the loss of Dawkins.

25. Baltimore Ravens – WR Golden Tate – Notre Dame

In his Junior season Golden Tate really stepped up for Jimmy Clausen and the Fighting Irish.  As a result of this years’ play, his draft stock has really risen.  The Ravens will be going into the draft looking for a playmaker that Joe Flacco can throw to.  Derrick Mason retired last year and then came back so he may pull a “Favre” again this year.

26. Arizona Cardinals – DE Ricky Sapp – Clemson

If Anquan Boldin leaves Arizona they could use this pick in the 2010 NFL draft to replace him with another playmaker.  Right now in my 2010 NFL mock draft I have them boosting their defensive line.  Sapp would be a good addition to the front line that has been dominating this year.  By adding Sapp it will create more depth and could help keep players more fresh during the game.

27. Dallas Cowboys –  DE/OLB Sergio Kindle – Texas

Sergio Kindle took over for DE Brian Orakpo who was drafted by Washington in the 2009 NFL draft and is a candidate for Rookie of the Year. Kindle is a similar player to Orakpo and has tremendous talent that will be hard to pass up for San Francisco. The Cowboys may not go this way but if Kindle is still around then it will be hard to pass on him.  He is a play similar to DeMarcus Ware and Anthony Spencer so adding depth would not hurt in any way.

28. San Diego Chargers - RB Jonathan Dwyer – Georgia Tech

Dwyer is a big explosive running back that has had a great career at Georgia Tech.  Tech’s previous RB, Tashard Choice, has had a solid rookie year and Dwyer is a much more talented prospect.  LT is getting real close to the end of his career and may not even be back with the Chargers next season.  Darren Sproles is not an every down back so San Diego will be entering the draft looking for a back that will work well with Philip Rivers and that high powered offense.

29. New York Jets – DE Everson Griffen – USC

With their first round pick the Jets could look to draft a WR which will help Mark Sanchez and the offense in the 2010 season.  Braylon Edwards has the potential to be a big time receiver but just can’t shake loose all the drops that he has had this season.  I feel that Rex Ryan will turn to the defensive side and take DE Everson Griffen who has played his way up many 2010 NFL mock drafts.  In my 2010 NFL mock draft I see him as being a late first round pick.

30. Minnesota Vikings – DT Dan Williams – Tennessee

I know that the Vikings have the Williams’ in the middle but they continue to get older each year and it would be nice for the Vikings to have some depth at that position as well as allow them to get a rest at different times in a ball game.  Currently there are reports that NT Pat Williams is 50/50 on retiring so if he does then they will have to look to replace him in the draft.  They could also be looking at a QB but at this spot there may not be one worth taking but later in the draft I wouldn’t be surprised if they take one.

31. New Orleans Saints – DT Terrance Cody – Alabama

Terrence Cody is a big dude who has plugged up the middle for the past few years at Alabama.  With this pick the Saints will look to improve their run defense.  Cody is a tough player to move around and should be able to play in the Saints defensive system which is much improved this year.  His weight concerns could make his draft stock drop.  Keep your eyes on his workouts in the next few months.

32. Indianapolis Colts - DT Brian Price – UCLA

With Dwight Freeney  on one side and Robert Mathis on the other they will need to fill the void in the middle.  Brian Price has been one bright spot on the UCLA football team this year.  He would be a good addition to the defensive line and could create more sack opportunities for the two on the end if that is possible.
