1. St. Louis Rams - QB Sam Bradford – Oklahoma

This is the start of the rebuilding of the St. Louis Rams. To be a successful team you must have a great QB and the are hoping Bradford will be that. There are a lot of concerns about him due to him being in a spread offense at Oklahoma. He will have to improve on his footwork and reading defenses. He is an intelligent player with great accuracy. I understand all the concerns that surround him but he has a good head on his shoulders so I think he will be successful.

2. Detroit Lions – DT Ndamukong Suh – Nebraska

Ndamukong Suh was a beast in the middle of the defensive line in college and I expect the same in the NFL. Coach Swartz believes to build a successful team you must have a strong offensive and defensive line. This is a great player to put in the middle of your defensive line. He may be the best football player in this draft and should make an immediate impact in the 2010 NFL season.

3. Tampa Bay Buccaneers – DT Gerald McCoy – Oklahoma

McCoy has a different style of play compared to Suh. He is more of a pass rushing defensive tackle where Suh plugs holes with the three technique. This one of the easiest picks in this years draft. He will fit in perfectly with Tampa Bay’s defensive scheme. This could be a team that sneaks up on people in 2010 with a revamped defense and 2nd year QB Josh Freeman.

4. Washington Redskins – OT Trent Williams – Oklahoma

This pick was between Russell Okung and Williams. Trent Williams is a better fit for Washington. He will help protect Donavan McNabb who they acquired this off-season. Williams is a big and physical offensive tackle. A 6’4″ 315lbs frame will fit in very well with the depleted offensive line.

5. Kansas City Chiefs – S Eric Berry – Tennessee

This pick surprises me, I thought that they would go with an offensive tackle to protect QB Matt Cassel. I am a big fan of Berry. I think he is a tremendous athlete who will drastically change that defense. He can cover tight ends and wide receivers and also step up and chase down running backs.

6. Seattle Seahawks – OT Russell Okung – Oklahoma State

They really wanted Eric Berry but was taken but Kansas City right before. This is a great draft pick by Seattle. According to my draft board Okung was the best OT in this year’s draft. Pete Carroll is trying to build this team with the front line to protect aging Matt Hasselbeck and in the future Charlie Whitehurst.

7. Cleveland Browns – CB Joe Haden – Florida

With this pick in the 2010 NFL draft, the Browns needed to upgrade their secondary. I believe that they would have loved to get Eric Berry but since he was off the board they went with the best available CB and that was Joe Haden. He didn’t have a great combine but is a fantastic athlete who has great ability to find the ball.

8. Oakland Raiders – ILB Rolando McClain – Alabama

This is a surprising pick but I think is a very good pick for Al Davis and the Raiders. He isn’t the fastest or strongest defensive player but he is a defensive leader with a great football IQ. Right away he will step in and run the defensive side of the ball. Very well done by Oakland.

9. Buffalo Bills – RB C.J. Spiller – Clemson

This is very surprising to me. I really like Spiller and the more I think about the pick it is a pretty good one. They are going to eventually get rid of RB Marshawn Lynch which they will need to add someone to help Fred Jackson. Later in the draft they will be able to get a tackle or Tim Tebow who they are really high on.

10. Jacksonville Jaguars – DT Tyson Alualu - California

11. San Francisco 49ers (Via Broncos) – OT Anthony Davis – Rutgers

In my mock drafts I have been back and forth on Davis. Bryan Buluga is still available so I would have picked him ahead of Davis. There are a lot of concerns about Davis. There are questions about his work ethic and commitment to the game but is a very talented player.

12. San Diego Chargers (Via Dolphins) – RB Ryan Matthews – Fresno State

I didn’t think that they needed to trade this far up to draft Matthews. But they do have a need here with LaDainian Tomlinson now in New York. He is defiantly the second best RB and is comparable to C.J. Spiller.

13. Philadelphia Eagles (Via Broncos) – DE Brandon Graham – Michigan

14. Seattle Seahawks – S Earl Thomas – Texas

15. New York Giants – DE Jason Pierre-Paul – South Florida

Draft order

1. St. Louis Rams – QB Sam Bradford – Oklahoma

With the recent release of QB Marc Bulger it makes it almost certain that the St. Louis Rams will draft Bradford in the upcoming draft. With many questions swirling around Sam Bradford and his shoulder, he came out on his pro day and shut everyone up. He preformed extremely well in front of pro scouts and I can confidently say that he will be a St. Louis Ram in 2010.

2. Detroit Lions – DT Ndamukong Suh – Nebraska

In the 2009 NFL draft, they boosted their offense with a franchise QB in Matt Stafford and TE Brandon Pettigrew. Also with their second round pick they drafted Safety Louis Delmas who is having a pretty good season so drafting They have lacked a run stopper in the middle of their defensive line.

3. Tampa Bay Buccaneers – DT Gerald McCoy – Oklahoma

Tampa Bay has one of the easiest picks in the 2010 NFL mock draft if the Rams go with Sam Bradford. They will have the option of either DT that the Lions don’t draft. The Buccaneers have a glaring need on their defensive line and Gerald McCoy will be a great player for them in the 2010 season.

4. Washington Redskins - OT Russell Okung – Oklahoma State

Now that the Redskins traded for QB Donavan McNabb and have their quarterback position set for 2010 they will turn to their next glaring need which is their offensive line. Russell Okung is the top offensive tackle in the 2010 NFL draft and should be the Redskins first round pick in this years’ draft.

5. Kansas City Chiefs – OT Trent Williams – Oklahoma

The Chiefs offensive line is in desperate need of improvement and in my 2010 NFL mock draft I have them doing just that.. They drafted OT Branden Albert in 2008 but hasn’t panned out like they were hoping. Williams is a big and powerful offensive lineman who has had a great career protecting Sam Bradford at Oklahoma. In his combine workout he ran a 4.85-second 40-yard dash, turned in a 32-inch vertical jump and put up 34 repetitions on the standard 225-pound bench press. By drafting a franchise left tackle to protect QB Matt Cassell’s blind side they may be able to step up their offensive production.

6. Seattle Seahawks – RB C.J. Spiller – Clemson

C.J. Spiller is head over heals the best offensive playmaker in the 2010 NFL draft and has moved up for that very reason. I had him going to Seattle with their second 1st round pick but I think they will have to pick him with the 6th pick because I don’t believe teams will pass on him. He will immediately impact the Seahawks offense in 2010.

7. Cleveland Browns – S Eric Berry – Tennessee

The Browns could go with DT Dan Williams and that wouldn’t be a bad pick but I believe that they will have to take Eric Berry here. He is a tremendous athlete who will be the leader on the Cleveland defense. He should go higher in this year’s draft but do to the position he plays he has fallen to the 7th pick in my 2010 NFL mock draft.

8. Oakland Raiders – OT Bryan Bulaga – Iowa

With the 8th pick in the 2010 NFL draft the Raiders could go a few ways. They may help the defensive line or secondary. In my 2010 NFL mock draft I have them picking Bryan Bulaga. This will be a tough pick for Al Davis but it should be the right one if he wants JaMarcus Russell to succeed.

9. Buffalo Bills – QB Jimmy Clausen – Notre Dame

The Bills could go with an offensive lineman with the 9th pick in the 2010 NFL draft but with the top three OT’s off the board I believe they will have to pick their QB of the future. If Clausen gets passed Buffalo, he could be waiting for awhile unless a team trades up for him like Cleveland did for Brady Quinn a few years ago.

10. Jacksonville Jaguars – DE Jason Pierre-Paul – South Florida

Pierre-Paul is an athletic defensive end who will dramatically improve the Jaguars pass rush in 2010. I have gone with many different players that Jacksonville could draft with the 10th pick in the 2010 NFL draft. I am going back to Jason Pierre-Paul even with the addition of Aaron Kampman this off-season.

11. Denver Broncos (From Chicago) – ILB Rolando McClain – Alabama

I think that it will be hard for Denver to pass up on WR Dez Bryant especially trading away Brandon Marshall last week. There are plenty of good WR’s later on in this years draft so that is the one thing going for them Rolando McClain I am real high on as well. He is a very intelligent football player who will improve the Broncos defense immediately.

12. Miami Dolphins – DT Dan Williams – Tennessee

If Williams is available at this spot I believe they will draft him right away without hesitation. If there is hesitation it will also include Sergio Kindle who is a hybrid defensive player who can play linebacker and defensive end. Dan Williams will help stabilize the middle of the defensive line.

13. San Francisco 49ers - OT Bruce Campbell – Maryland

Bruce Campbell has been rising in many mock drafts. The 49ers are entering this draft looking to build up their offensive line. If Anthony Davis or Trent Williams falls to them at pick 13 then expect them to draft one of those offensive linemen. Picking Campbell here in my NFL mock draft will help protect Alex Smith who looked like the franchise QB that they were expecting at the end of this season.

14. Seattle Seahawks (From Denver) – S Earl Thomas – Texas

The Seahawks could potentially draft Eric Berry but I have them selecting RB C.J. Spiller. So if Earl Thomas is still on the draft board then they would be very happy with him. He is an excellent athlete who would fit in well with the Seattle secondary.

15. New York Giants – DE Derrick Morgan – Georgia Tech

This wont make Osi Umenyiora very happy and I could see him getting traded this season. By drafting Morgan it will make the defensive line younger and quicker. He will provide more pressure on the QB that they lacked last year and which helped them win a Super Bowl a few years ago.

16. Tennessee Titans – DE/OLB Sergio Kindle – Texas

Kindle will fit in well with Jeff Fisher’s defense. He can play standing up or with his hand on the ground. He could be drafted near the top ten or could drop towards the end of the 1st round. It will all depend who is on the board and how each team feels about him come draft day on Thursday.

17. San Francisco 49ers (From Carolina) – OG Mike Iupati – Idaho

Iupati may not fall this far but I wouldn’t be surprised if he did. And if he does expect the 49ers to pick him up. He will dramatically improve the offensive line in 2010 and maybe help improve QB Alex Smith. This will be Alex Smith’s last year to prove that he is their QB or they will look elsewhere in 2011.

18. Pittsburgh Steelers - C/G Maurkice Pouncey - Florida

The Steelers have been trying to improve their offensive line each year because Big Ben has been getting hit a lot. Pouncey has really jumped up in the 1st round in the past few weeks and should get some good looks in the 2010 NFL draft.

19. Atlanta Falcons – DE Jerry Hughes – TCU

Jerry Hughes last year could have been a high first round draft pick last year but decided to stay in school. This year I have had him in my second round for most of the year but I think that Atlanta really needs a pass rusher so with the other DE’s off the board they will take Hughes with the 19th pick. Atlanta was among the worst defenses in sacks for the 2009 season. This draft pick will immediately produce more sacks.

20. Houston Texans – CB Kyle Wilson – Boise State

Wilson has been moving up many draft boards as well as mine. The Texans lost Dunta Robinson so they will need to fill that void. Kyle Wilson from Boise State will do just that.

21. Cincinnati Bengals – WR Dez Bryant – Oklahoma State

This draft pick will help the Bengals offense dramatically. Bryant has slid down many draft boards due to his attitude but I don’t think that should matter but according to my mock draft he falls to Cincinnati and they would love to have him.

22. New England Patriots – TE Jermain Gresham – Oklahoma

Gresham looked to have gotten over his knee injury that he sustain his senior year during his workouts at the combine. Gresham ran routes well and his 4.76 in the 40 confirmed that he has not lost his ability to stretch the middle of the field. Tom Brady will love throwing to him which will open up the field for Randy Moss.

23. Green Bay Packers - DE Brandon Graham – Michigan

The Packers need to get younger and quicker on the front line of their defense. DE Graham will be a great addition to that front line that needs to get quicker off the ball. Graham’s performance in the Senior Bowl has really elevated him in a lot of mock drafts. He has moved into the first round in my 2010 mock draft.

24. Philadelphia Eagles – S Taylor Mays – USC

Taylor Mays is a freak athlete and would have been a high draft pick in last years draft but decided to stay for his senior year. He is a player that looks for the big hits and is very good against the run but also hurts him sometimes because he will jump on play action. His type of play would be a great fit in the secondary of the Eagles. In my 2010 NFL mock draft, Taylor Mays will be available with the 24th pick and should be able to help with the loss of Dawkins.

25. Baltimore Ravens – WR Golden Tate – Notre Dame

Even with the addition of WR Anquan Boldin which is a great pick up for the Ravens, I still have them drafting Golden Tate in my 2010 NFL mock draft. In his Junior season Tate really stepped up for Jimmy Clausen and the Fighting Irish. Boldin is a great WR in the NFL but throughout his career he has been injury prone and it wont hurt their offense to have two playmakers for Joe Flacco to throw to.

26. Arizona Cardinals – DE Ricky Sapp – Clemson

Free agency has has just started and the Cardinals are one of the biggest losers so far. They have lost S Antrel Rolle, WR Anquan Boldin, and DE Bertrand Berry to retirement. They will need to really load up on defensive players in the 2010 NFL draft. The loss of Boldin is not a big factor with Early Doucet and Steve Breaston moving up a spot on the depth chart.

27. Dallas Cowboys – OT Anthony Davis – Rutgers

The Cowboys finally released the aging and penalty prone OT Flozell Adams. Their biggest need in this draft will be OT and if Davis falls in their lap I don’t see them passing on him. He is a very strong and physical offensive tackle. He isn’t quite the run blocker that Adams was but he should be betting in his all around game.

28. San Diego Chargers - RB Ryan Matthews – Fresno State

With the Chargers releasing LaDainian Tomlinson, the Chargers will need to get a full-time RB to man the backfield. It looks like Darren Sproles will stay in San Diego which is a good move but he isn’t a player that can handle the load of 300 carries. Ryan Matthews draft stock has really risen in the last few weeks. I have him as my second RB in the 2010 NFL draft.

29. New York Jets – DE Everson Griffen – USC

With their first round pick the Jets could look to draft a WR which will help Mark Sanchez and the offense in the 2010 season. Braylon Edwards has the potential to be a big time receiver but just can’t shake loose all the drops that he has had this season. I feel that Rex Ryan will turn to the defensive side and take DE Everson Griffen who has played his way up many 2010 NFL mock drafts. In my 2010 NFL mock draft I see him as being a late first round pick.

30. Minnesota Vikings – DT Jared Odrick – Penn State

I know that the Vikings have the Williams’ in the middle but they continue to get older each year and it would be nice for the Vikings to have some depth at that position as well as allow them to get a rest at different times in a ball game. Currently there are reports that NT Pat Williams is 50/50 on retiring so if he does then they will have to look to replace him in the draft.

31. Indianapolis Colts – DT Brian Price – UCLA

With Dwight Freeney on one side and Robert Mathis on the other they will need to fill the void in the middle. Price would be a good addition to the defensive line and could create more sack opportunities for the two on the end if that is possible.

32. New Orleans Saints – OT Charles Brown – USC

Brown has been creeping up many draft boards in the last few weeks. This week is the first week that I have had him in the 1st round. He could potentially go even higher depending on where the other tackles are drafted. I have Anthony Davis falling to Dallas but if he is drafted higher then that could mean good things for Brown. Brown will help New Orleans line get younger and continue to keep Drew Brees upright.
