Smith entered college as a tight end and had eight starts in his redshirt freshman year.  In his sophomore year he was moved over to offensive tackle where he made 12 starts.  He continued to improve at that position and is a very athletic offensive lineman and should be drafted in the top five picks of the 2009 NFL draft.
